What is Ahimsa?

Ahimsa (pronounced ah-HIM-sa) is a beautiful concept from ancient Indian philosophy that means non-violence and compassion for all living things. It's the core principle behind our company, Ahimsa Vege Health Food Industries Sdn Bhd. We reflect this principle in two ways: 1) by offering a variety of delicious vegetarian and vegan options, and 2) by prioritizing quality ingredients, certifications, and allergen-consciousness throughout our production process. We're a Malaysian company with a strong local presence, and we're also proud to potentially share our plant-based vision globally!

Are Ahimsa products vegan or vegetarian?

We believe in Ahimsa, which means non-violence. That's why we offer a variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian options! Additionally, all our products are free of garlic and onion for those with specific dietary needs.

What are the key ingredients in Ahimsa products?

We use a variety of high-quality plant-based ingredients to create our delicious products. These may include mushrooms, soy, wheat, konjac, and a selection of fresh vegetables.

What allergens are present in Ahimsa products?

At Ahimsa, your safety is our priority. While some of our products may contain soy, wheat, and/or egg, we take careful steps to minimize cross-contamination in our facilities. However, due to shared equipment, there's a chance of trace amounts being present.

How does Ahimsa ensure the quality and safety of its products?

At Ahimsa, we take food safety and quality very seriously. We adhere to rigorous international standards and are proud to hold certifications like FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP, and Halal. What kind of plant-based foods do you offer?

We have a wide variety of plant-based options, including snacks, ready-to-eat meals, sauces & pastes, condiments, plus frozen plant-based seafood, meat alternatives, tofu, and mushrooms!

Why might a vegetarian or vegan choose Ahimsa products that contain "meat"?

Ahimsa offers delicious, plant-based alternatives to meat that are still satisfying. We believe this can be a great option for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone curious about trying a more plant-based lifestyle.

How long do Ahimsa products stay fresh?

The shelf life of our products varies depending on the type. Frozen foods generally last for up to 3 years, while others may have a shorter shelf life. We recommend always checking the 'Best Before' date on the label for the most accurate information.
